Write a Comedic Song

About This Workshop:
In this two-hour workshop, participants will learn the basic steps of writing a song using a simple chord structure. Focusing mainly on the writing aspects of comedy, participants will have written a comedy song by the end of the class. Yeah, you!
Prerequisite: No experience needed
We will have some ukuleles available during the workshop, but students are encouraged to bring their own if they have one.
About The Instructor:
Shilpa Das is a comedian/actor/writer based in Los Angeles. She has been a performer at UCB for several years as an improviser, sketch writer, and musical improviser. Currently she is an actor/writer in the UCB company, Quick & Funny Musicals. Shilpa is the producer and co-host of the South Asian AF show, LA’s largest South Asian variety comedy show, which has enjoyed a sold out run since 2018. Shilpa has performed stand up at The Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, and Flappers, in addition to lots of questionable locations all around LA. She can be found holding down her day job, doing comedy around town, or on the sunken middle cushion of her couch where she nurtures her inner undercover introvert. theshilpadas.com
