Calling All Oahu-Based Comedic Actors!

The Hawai’i Comedy Festival is proud to announce the 2023 Actor Auditions for MUSICAL SKETCH NIGHT! The 9th Annual Hawai’i Comedy Festival Musical Sketch Night will be held on Friday, September 29th at the Doris Duke Theatre in Honolulu.

What is the Hawaii Comedy Fest Sketch Night?

The Musical Sketch Night Show is a long-time local favorite – an evening of four original musical sketches written by local writers. The show is written by the Hawai’i Comedy Festival 2023 Start-Up team and performed by local actors- that’s where you come in!

Commitments:

• Actors must be available for rehearsals on August 14th-September 27th (exact schedule will be provided- you will not be called every day)
• Actors must be available for the final dress rehearsal on the evening of Thursday, September 28th
• Actors must be available for the show on the evening of Friday, September 29th
• Actors must be willing and able to commit to the memorization and characterization of assigned scripts

How to Submit:

• To be considered, actors* must sign up for auditions via the form below
  • Please prepare a comedic song to be performed a capella or with a track.
  • Your song must be 30-60 seconds or 16-32 bars.
  • No accompanist will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own

Compensation:

Please note that this event is on a volunteer basis, which means there is no pay, unfortunately. If selected, you will receive a complimentary ticket to the Hawaii Comedy Festival Musical Night.
